Over the decades of time that I have been involved in studying, playing, creating, and sharing music I have always been humbled and amazed at how music can move the inner spirit of man. My own belief is that music and worship are a part of God that is instilled in all of us, either to express it or to receive it. We are created in His image to worship Him in spirit and in truth, therefore, when we are in the presence of something that God has breathed life into (musically speaking) our walls go down and our spirits are stirred.
[Exo 34:14 NKJV] 14 “(for you shall worship no other god, for the LORD, whose name [is] Jealous, [is] a jealous God),
[Jhn 4:22-23 NKJV] 22 “You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. 23 “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.
[Jhn 4:24 NKJV] 24 “God [is] Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
Worship is important to God. Worshiping Him the way He desires is important, not necessarily the way we think it should be. Giving Him honor and offering our gifts of worship bring us to a place where He is able to use us to touch other people’s lives. We can choose to frame our worship into a formula that suits our logical, structured lives or we can choose to wait, listen, and move through worship the way He desires. A lot to think about…….
